Help your merchants get started quickly by assisting with their Know Your Customer (KYC) process. This improves their onboarding experience and reduces the time it takes to activate their account. You can assist merchants with KYC in one of the following ways:
  • Complete the KYC process for the merchant using your dashboard.
  • Share the onboarding link with the merchant.
  • Ask the merchant to complete KYC using their Cashfree Merchant Dashboard.
After KYC submission, eligible merchants are activated instantly and can start accepting payments.

Complete KYC using your dashboard

To complete the merchant’s KYC on their behalf:
  1. Login to the Affiliate Partner dashboard using your credentials.
  2. Go to the Merchants section.
  3. Select Complete KYC for the merchant.
  4. A new tab opens with the merchant’s onboarding form.
  5. Enter the required onboarding details, following the instructions on the page.
At the final step, the merchant must enter their Aadhaar number and verify it using a one-time password (OTP). You can fill in the details up to this step. Then, share the onboarding link with the merchant to complete Aadhaar verification. To share the onboarding link with the merchant:
  1. Login to the Affiliate Partner dashboard using your credentials.
  2. Go to the Merchants section.
  3. Select the Copy icon next to the KYC button for the merchant.
  4. Share the link using WhatsApp, Instagram, or another messaging platform.
  5. Ask the merchant to log in using their Cashfree credentials or select Login using OTP to receive an OTP.
  6. Once logged in, the onboarding page opens. The merchant can complete the onboarding steps.

Track merchant status

Track the KYC and product activation status of your referred merchants in the Merchants section of the Affiliate Partner.

StatusDescription
PendingPayments aren’t activated yet. KYC is still pending.
ActiveThe merchant is activated and can accept payments.
RejectedThe requested products can’t be activated for this business.

StatusDescription
Complete KYC (KYC pending)The default status for new merchants. Next step: complete KYC.
Under reviewThe KYC has been submitted and is under review.
Resubmit KYC (KYC rejected)The submitted KYC has discrepancies. Resubmission is required.
BlockedThe requested products can’t be activated for this business.
CompletedKYC has been approved.
